All graphical objects in DEX are arranged in a stacking order.
For instance in figure 1a the blue line is at the top of the stacking order and appears in front of both the red rectangle and the green circle.
In figure 2a the blue line is at the bottom of the stacking order and appears behind both the red rectangle and the green circle.
While in figure 3a the blue line is above the red rectangle but below the green circle.
You can change the stack order of objects by using the layout/order menu.

Semi-transparent objects.
Below shows the objects in the three different stacking orders as above, except that the blue line has been given a semi-transparent blue stroke pen.
