You can add dimensions to your design.

 

Dimensions display the distance between 2 points. The distance can be displayed as a combination of a textural description and a numeric value as shown below where the top edge of a rectangle is dimensioned. Both the textural description and and numeric value are optional. Below, the textural description for the dimension  is "My Label" and the numeric value is 1.25ins.

The numeric value is automatically set by the distance between the 2 end points of the dimension. As you move either of the end points, the numeric value displayed will instantly change.

 

Dimension lines come in 3 different styles, vertical, horizontal and aligned. Click on the style button to switch from one style to another.

To Add A Dimension

1.Click one of the three dimension buttons from the Add/Dimensions menu.
2.Move the cursor to the start point of the dimension.
3.Either Click the left mouse button and drag the mouse to size the dimension and then click the left mouse button again or press the left mouse button down and drag the mouse to size the dimension and then release the left mouse button.
4.Finally drag the mouse and the dimension line will be offset from the start and end points. Click the left mouse button to finalize the dimension's line position.

You can change the textural description using the Dimension Properties dialog.
